Larissa and Curly
I know that this doesn't really fit the context of this page, but I really wanted to mention this special friendship.
Basically, I've been riding horses my whole life and I even have an own horse - her name is Larissa, Because of that reason alone it was clear to me that my future dog is going to join me at the stable, but I never expected such a close relationship.
Curly was at the stable with me right from the start and although you could see that my mare was slightly annoyed by the white midget who would always steal her apples, she never showed any aggression towards Curly. The white Boy runs around between her legs, pulls her tail or barks at her if he wants attention - Larissa doesn't mind. (Which I'm very grateful for!)
Quite the contrary is the case: she is like Curly's guardian. When the three of us are out for a ride, she always has an eye on him and she even slows down without a warning (good for the dog, but not for me) so that she doesn't accidently overrun him.
When the weather is bad, they play "catch me" in the indoor riding corral, something I've never seen before between a dog and a horse.
They amaze me everytime - and more importantly: they proof that friendship doesn't know any limits.
